Want to learn more about the fifth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5) to be published in 2013?
Counseling is a professional relationship that empowers diverse individuals, families, and groups to accomplish mental health, wellness, education and career goals.
Congratulations to our Spring 2012 IMHCA Scholarship winners:
Aaron Schiffelbein and Suzanne Burton!
Both will receive $250.

Aaron Schiffelbein is currently a counseling student at the University of Idaho in Moscow where he has resided for the past five years with his wife.  He is currently a school counseling intern for a local rural school district and hopes to one day find a school counseling job in the area.  Aaron enjoys working with students of all ages and wants to be a counselor students will look to for encouragement and wisdom.  His high school counselor modeled these same qualities and is the primary inspiration for his chosen profession.  Aaron enjoys camping, music, sunny-day picnics and going on adventures with his wife and dog.

Suzanne Burton is a second year counseling student at ISU-Meridian who launched into her program after retiring as the administrator of a Boise-area charter school.  Suzanne’s other past careers include radio news reporter/anchor in Pocatello and Boise; and the public information officer for the city of Boise.  She has been married for 40 years and has five children and 16 (going on 18) grandchildren.  In her spare time, she loves to read, walk and play with the grandbabies.  Her plan is to see 6-8 clients a week until she is 90.
